An East Coast Demerara (ECD) businessman was yesterday robbed of cash by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

In a press release police said yesterday, at around 1 pm, Sundat Persaud a resident of Clonbrook, ECD, was selling rice at Plaza Road, Melanie Damishana, ECD when the bandits held him at gunpoint and robbed him of $13, 000. The men then made good their escape.

Police investigations are continuing.
